Tea is a timeless drink, simple yet complex, with a thousand facets and sensory nuances that are not always easily perceived. Tea is above all a ritual, whether performed by one or by many. Tea harmonizes the mind and brings people closer. “Tea was not only a remedy to prevent drowsiness, but was also a way of aiding men to return to their sources, a moment in the rhythm of the day when prince and peasant shared the same thoughts and the same pleasure as they get ready to return to their destiny.” – Lu Yu (733-804). Cha King, the Classic of Tea, is the very first monograph on tea in the world.

Tea is a journey across the continents. Very often synonymous with culture and hospitality, offering a cup of tea to guests is a very important ceremonial practice that still takes place in many Eastern and non-Eastern countries alike. Tea culture is the pursuit of pleasure and quality: examples of that are the very rare Chinese Tai Mu Long Zhu and Moonlight White tea, and the prized Indian Darjeeling Margaret’s Hope First Flush tea.
